Valley Health selects EPOWERdoc as system-wide vendor
EPOWERdoc and Valley Health have reached an agreement to implement EMRDoc throughout the Northern Virginia based health system. EMRDoc will be installed in a total of six hospitals and four urgent care centers over the next 18 months.
Valley Health is a nonprofit organization serving the healthcare needs of people in and around an area known as the Top of Virginia, as well as parts of West Virginia and Maryland. Valley Health was incorporated November 4, 1993 when Winchester Medical Center (WMC) and Warren Memorial Hospital (WMH), in Front Royal, partnered to serve the region. Headquartered in Winchester, Virginia, Valley Health now operates six hospitals: WMC, WMH, Shenandoah Memorial Hospital (SMH) in Woodstock, VA, Page Memorial Hospital (PMH) in Luray, VA, Hampshire Memorial Hospital (HMH) in Romney, WV, and War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, WV. Valley Health has a combined 610 licensed inpatient beds and 166 long-term care beds. The system is supported by more than 5,300 employees, and a medical staff of over 500.
In addition to installations at the six hospital locations, EMRDoc will also be installed in Valley's four urgent care sites, located in Winchester, VA; Front Royal, VA; Martinsburg, WV and Strasburg, VA.
In addition to the normal installation of EMRDoc with integration of registration, orders, results and final record into the Valley based McKesson platform, the Valley Health sites will also be integrating medication reconcillation data, allergies, medication orders and print status notification with Iatric Systems.
