Our ED is currently on a paper template and is going to convert to an EDIS. How long is the conversion process, and what difficulties might we expect with our conversion to an EDIS?

The typical installation process takes on average about four months. During this timeframe, we will customize the product, educate users, develop processes and build interfaces with the existing HIS. We work very closely with the ED staff to ensure a smooth transition to our EDIS and participate in onsite shadowing of the clinicians during go-live to assist them in documentation. The typical learning curve for the system is between 4-6 weeks.
