EPOWERdoc Receives ONC-ACB Certification by Drummond Group

January 17, 2014

EPOWERdoc's EMRDoc™ EDIS version 3.1 has been tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Testing Body (ONC-ACTB) program. This EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“Earning certification requires the skills and expertise of the entire team at EPOWERdoc,” says David Ernst, MD, FACEP, President of EPOWERdoc, Inc."As such, this is a tremendous honor for all who had a hand in making it happen. We are confident achieving the prestigious Drummond Group 2014 EHR Permanent Certification will help us to further stand out in a crowded market place, while continuing to grow to serve more and more hospitals in need of a platform predominantly focused on improving efficiency and effectiveness in the Emergency Department. This Permanent Certification also allows our clients to obtain appropriate reimbursement for achieving EHR Meaningful Use under the HITECH Act."

The Drummond Group’s ONC-ACTB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the Meaningful Use criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for either Eligible Provider or Eligible Hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

EMRDoc™, which met the requirements for ONC-ACTB EHR - 2014 Edition Certification is a revolutionary electronic patient tracking and documentation system that incorporates the unique EPOWERdoc template formats into an EMR module that is specifically designed for ED physicians and clinicians. EMRDoc™ is recognized as the fastest and easiest to use EDIS product on the market today.

"Leveraging information technology for healthcare initiatives provides the opportunity to deliver a high-level quality of care and efficiency which essentially benefits and enhances the overall patient experience,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group Inc. “We have been testing software for more than a decade and will continue to provide our extensive experience testing and certifying complex systems for multiple industries, as well as ensuring interoperability and security remain key components in the growing healthcare industry.”

“This EHR Module is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.”
